NICHE, distributors of MSD Panels in Norway, have participated in the development of the Il Padrino Ristorante Italia, whose beautiful premises are located in the Strømmen Storsenter shopping mall, in the city of the same name very close to the capital, Oslo.
By installing MSD solid white broken brick panels and vertical walnut sleepers we have achieved a cozy, functional and evocatively traditional Italian space with contemporary touches.
The decorative MSD panels are perfect for decorating the walls of premises specializing in food and drink. The reason being its attractive rugged texture and durability, as well as how easy it is to fit and its undoubted appeal. An invitation to share special, unforgettable moments in somewhat of an oasis of tasty Mediterranean delicacies.
NICHE Norway AS is based in Barkåker, a town in the province of Vestfold in the Østlandet region of Norway. It offers its customers an extensive showroom, within the industrial area of Nauen, with everything required to bring to life the design of food and drink businesses, hotels and restaurants, as well as offices and other commercial premises.
This company, leader in its sector in northern Europe, has its own team of designers who work hand in hand with contractors. The speed of the refurbishments and the projects are its key hallmark. The application of lightweight panels, large and easily applicable, such as MSD Dress Your Wall ®, contributes to the excellent result.
Tenth anniversary of NICHE
In 2019 NICHE celebrates its tenth anniversary, so through this publication we would like to congratulate them for their great work, in particular the founder and CEO, Lars Erik Østbye.
“I was born and raised in this industry, my grandfather started in this business in 1948,” he explains in an interview to a publication specializing in modern Norwegian design. Congratulations and every success to the NICHE team.
Designing spaces that are going to be used by many and very different people is not an easy task, there is a trick to it. Design professionals have decided in 2019 that the best way to meet this challenge in restaurant design is … looking at the wall!
The decorative MSD Panels add colour and texture almost instantaneous to the commercial premises, are good value for money and don’t require much time.
The rich textures of aged brick, wood, concrete or stone of different shapes, colors and finishes bring personality and inspiration to food and drink establishments: they almost magically transform them into comfortable, warm places isolated from the outside world. They can even acoustically isolate them from the daily commotion of the cities, with the bonus of comfort.
This year colors take a bold step in restaurants, beyond the white on white, and without too much of a big deal, they pursue a natural effect, without visual clutter. The new designs incorporate a seventies feeling: simple and natural but at the same time bright, with touches of metal and a lot, a lot of texture.
The color palettes are bright and saturated with natural light, evoking the feeling of being outdoors, in a world that otherwise seems to live more and more within itself.
This audacity can be seen in the combination of different finishes that turn the creative work of design into a unique decorative atmosphere, with a singular, unforgettable personality. Restaurants that are a treat for the eyes, and where you always want to return!

The Madrid décor studio used the MSD Lasca Navarrete Black panel to give the Espiral hair and beauty salon a complete makeover. MSD decorative panels adapt to the philosophy of personalizing spaces to produce an original, unique, homogeneous and contemporary effect.
Lascas Navarrete is a medium-sized panel, which imitates popular traditional walls with large and small rectangular stones, enabling smaller spaces to be covered.
The color black provides an elegant and sophisticated profile, highly suitable for encapsulating the type of decoration that provides personality to a hairdressing business.
Stone walls have always been linked to the rustic, classic style, although an increasing number of styles are taking into account the strength of stone for their décor proposal.
If you are looking for an innovative environment, a stone wall could be the key. If you tend to go for natural colors, MSD Dress your wall stone panels will enrich your project with a highly natural warmth; or if you are looking for sophistication or minimalism, there is a choice of many other colors or you can even create a customised color palette. Anything is possible!
