Are fireplaces your thing? Enjoying one can be easier than you think. It is a process that requires some planning work, but once completed, it gives the area, living room or study an elegant, warm and atmospheric look.
To define the necessary material, we must first reflect on the style we want for our room and the budget we can allocate to the project. This material will be the main theme in the ambience, so great care must be taken at this stage to ensure the procedure is ultimately a success.
Throughout the history of decoration, fireplaces have been covered with natural materials such as stone, marble, wood; concrete, metal, stainless steel, plasterboard, ceramics or tiles.
At present, there is a huge advantage in our favour: the application of technology panels such as MSD Dress Your Wall® facilitates the combination of the best characteristics of natural materials and those made from them.
On the one hand, they reproduce exactly their aesthetics: robust and rustic like stone, natural and looking like wood, or sophisticated like marble, without the need for a large financial outlay; on the other hand, they add a very important value to the current décor: they are quick and safe to fit and insulate. As they are more affordable we can change them easily, without any prolonged and bothersome building work, whenever necessary, or in keeping with the latest and original trends and finishings.

A stone wall for the fireplace
In another internal refurbishment project done by our French partners, the property owners wanted to change the position of the fireplace to make it more practical. To do this, they needed to make sure that the wall behind the fireplace could tolerate the heat. So, having worked out the technical difficulties, it was time for the final finish and they opted for our White Stone like Strata panels to bring brightness to this interior space, it is pretty impressive.
